University of Maine
Senior companion Program
Teagan Blackie

Independence is important throughout life and as we age the desire to keep our independence is extremely strong. Continuing to live your life at home, and doing activities that you love is very important to many people. The main goal of this program is to allow older adults to age in their homes for longer. In Maine, lots of older adults are living in places far from their families or other help. As a volunteer and community member, you can help allow them to continue their independence and provide them with the assistance they need.

The Senior Companion Program is looking for volunteers that are seeking opportunities to help older adults in their communities.
