Housing
Winter 2023-24 - In partnership with Augusta’s Parks & Recreation Bureau, the Police Department, the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office, the Kennebec Journal, and several local businesses, qualifying residents can participate in a Sand Bucket and/or Clear Paths (snow shoveling) program.
Respect and Social Inclusion
Incorporated Augusta Age-Friendly (AAF) community initiatives in Augusta’s Comprehensive Plan update.
AAF member of Maine’s Public Transit Advisory Council representing age-friendly needs.
Transportation (including promotion of active transportation)
CAPITAL (Cyclists And Pedestrians Invigorating The Augusta Life), initiated by earlier AAF efforts, collaborated with the Augusta City Council to establish by ordinance, a Bicyclist and Pedestrian Safety Committee
AAF partnered with AARP Maine, Chelsea Age-Friendly and Hallowell All Age-Friendly to host a regional Transportation Forum
