Highlights of 2023: Surry Neighbors Helping Neighbors has partnered with EAAA and AARP to offer two A Matter Of Balance classes and an on-going Bone Builders group. Both have been well received and subscribed.

Communication and Information
NHN send out community-wide mailings as needed to insure we reach all age and online communication levels
NHN hosted a successful Resource Fair in December 2022 with 75 people in attendance. A wide range of area programs provided information, such as Hospice of Hancock County, Arts at the Barn, the Surry Backpack program, Healthy Peninsula, and Friends in Action.
Community Supports and Health Services
NHN co-hosted Matter of Balance classes in September 2022 and Jan/Feb 2023.
NHN is sponsoring Bone Builders classes in Surry beginning June 2023. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-10 am at the Old Village School. Classes are free and all equipment is provided.
Housing
NHN provides and delivers sand buckets upon request to residents during the winter months.
Transportation (including promotion of active transportation
2022 AARP Challenge Grant provided funds for two signs entering the village of Surry "Drive Safely" to help decrease the number of people speeding through town as well as decrease the number of speed-related accidents.
NHN is providing free hi-visibility vests to Surry walkers and bikers.
